DATA & SOURCES

About the forecast

Useful estimates. Visible sources.
No invented live readings.

01 / Historical foundation

The inherited starting point blends two Thrill Data reference values: 48 minutes for 2024 (35% weight) and 62 minutes from the available 2025 snapshot (65% weight). The 2025 value is a partial-season snapshot, not a verified full-season average. These inputs were preserved from the supplied build and were not independently revalidated in this update. This is a lightweight planning model, not a trained or backtested attendance model.

Assumed adjustments: Wednesday −8 min; Thursday −4; Friday +8; Saturday +14; Sunday unchanged. October 28 onward adds 5 minutes. These adjustments are editorial assumptions, not values fitted to the historical dataset. The ±25-minute range is an illustrative uncertainty allowance; individual houses can exceed it substantially.

02 / Live updates & confidence

During the selected current event night (planning window 6:30 PM–2 AM Eastern), three or more fresh operating house queues activate the live adjustment. We take the median house wait, divide by the assumed hourly curve, and blend 60% of that implied nightly level with 40% of the historical baseline. This is queue pressure, not attendance or capacity utilization. Ride waits are displayed separately.

Data older than 15 minutes, unknown timestamps, closed attractions and missing waits do not enter the calculation. Manual observations take priority for their house while fresh. With fewer than three qualifying houses, the forecast remains historical. Even a live-adjusted forecast is unvalidated and low confidence.

03 / Weather & event calendar

Open-Meteo supplies hourly temperature, precipitation probability, weather codes and wind for Universal Studios Florida (28.4744, −81.4678). We request up to 16 days, convert timestamps to America/New_York, and include the hours after midnight in the preceding event night. The November daylight-saving transition is handled by timestamp conversion.

Rain is shown alongside crowd estimates; it does not mechanically reduce the crowd forecast. Storm-related closures can increase queues, and we do not have a validated weather-to-attendance model. This app is not a weather alert service.

Sources & coverage

Waits are for right now. Directory listings do not guarantee HHN operation. Posted waits: ThemeParks.wiki ↗. Refreshes automatically while visible, with faster retries after failures. Records older than 15 minutes do not count as live. Missing data does not mean closed; HHN house coverage may be absent, including outside event hours and in the offseason. Universal’s 2026 lineup ↗. All environment illustrations are original, unofficial concept artwork, with local vector fallbacks.

Open-Meteo · CC BY 4.0 ↗. Current conditions are model estimates, not a park sensor. Up to 16 forecast days; beyond that no values are invented. Rain risk is the highest hourly probability, not a whole-night probability. This is not a severe-weather alert service.

Compare baseline estimates. Scenario adjustments apply only on My Night.

October 19 is Premium Scream Night, separately ticketed. Dates retained from the source project; confirm hours and admission with Universal ↗. This planner covers October 18–November 1, 2026.

Adjustment changes the selected night’s modeled average and hourly curve. Arrival highlights the remaining evening; it does not change park-wide demand. Shading is an illustrative ±25-minute range, not a statistical interval. Assumed hours: 6:30 PM–2 AM. Confirm with Universal.
